Bio - Eva Mayer
The Austrian artist Eva Mayer was born in 1975 and presently resides and works
in Paris. She studied stage design at the Salzburg Academy of Music and Performing
Arts Mozarteum (Austria) and at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville,
in the United States. She then went on to study photography at the School
of Visual Arts in New York
Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions in Strasbourg, Brusselsand
Paris, and as part of collective exhibitions in France,Austria, Italy, Spain,
Portugal, Lithuania and the United States.
These exhibitions include, among others: I-Brow at the Los Angeles
Center For Digital Art, the Trente exhibition at the Summer Photographic
Festival in Trégor, France, and Women and Mystery at the Festival
Kaunas Photo Days in Lithuania. Her work was also exhibited
at the Salon d’art contemporain de Montrouge (Paris)
in 2006, and once again in 2007. She is presently representing Austria in
the Jeune Création Européenne (2007-2009) traveling
exhibition. Her next exhibition will be held in May 2009 in Guyancourt
(France). In June 2009 she will also participate at the biennale
REV'ARTS in Bezons (France).
Series of photographs taken by this artist have been published in several
contemporary art catalogues and journals including Afterimage
(New York), Frankfurter Rundschau (Frankfurt) and le Mois
de la photographie in Paris. In 2009 SAGAMIE Édition d’art has
published her first book called Tous les jours sont des adieux.
Eva Mayer was also artist in residence in Paliano (Italy)
in 2007. In 2009 she got a grant from the Pépinières
européennes pour jeunes artistes to develop the project Tous
les jours sont des adieux in Québec.
